Andrew Thorell is an inspiring film composer who is very much passionate about creating immersive musical experiences. He is currently a college student at Jessup University majoring in music with a concentration in commercial music with an additional focus on music composition, orchestration, and midi sequencing and data.

Andrew at the moment is studying under Alan Koshiyama whose own credit of work consisting of feature films, television, and commercial work ranges from Disney, ABC, TBS, ESPN, and PBS, to Time Warner/Turner Original Productions, The Hallmark Channel, The Discovery Channel, and 20th Century Fox Atomic. Thorell is developing his own versatile style of music while he looks to the likes of John Williams, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky, Bear McCreary, and Brian Tyler when developing his own musical voice. He continues to draw inspiration from each of their own musical styles while continuously being an avid fan of Steve Jablonsky. Andrew’s recent work includes a variety of original music compositions and rescored movie scenes.

Andrew’s expertise is in composing musical themes that are either emotionally resonant themes or sweeping sound atmospheres. Combine this with the orchestral mastery of Williams and the innovative textures of Zimmer, and he is able to bring in his own unique voice within the world of music composition. Thorell is also skilled with knowing and being able to find the tone or the heart of the project when it comes time to score.

Andrew believes that storytelling is the key or crucial for any media format. He aims not only to compose for major motion pictures and television, but to also nail the tone for the project as well. Andrew is defined by his commitment to hard work, authenticity, honesty, and relentless drive to help deliver the emotional drive and enhance the story of what the production side is trying to express to the audience.
